The Educators’ Choice for Insurance Commissioner
Senator Ricardo Lara has been a consistent and steadfast partner and advocate for students and educators. As recently as 2016, CTA worked in partnership with Lara to pass Proposition 58 to repeal bilingual education restrictions in California public schools. Lara is the only declared and viable candidate for Insurance Commissioner. He is a thoughtful, passionate advocate for public schools with a strong record of working collaboratively on behalf of California’s students and educators.
Lara is driven by a vision for the future that includes an often-overlooked area of education – ensuring the health of the students who attend. As a candidate for the office that would work most closely on regulating insurance companies and health plans, he is dedicated to a thoughtful inclusive conversation for how to achieve universal healthcare.
